The Voice of Ceramic is not just a speaker; it's a testament to the power of design and innovation. The designers were inspired by the long history of china as a material for making musical instruments, particularly the famous Chinese Porcelain Drum. This inspiration led them to create a speaker that not only amplifies sound but also reduces carbon emissions, embodying a perfect blend of ancient ceramics and high-tech mobile phones.
The design of The Voice of Ceramic is simple yet ingenious. A mobile phone is placed vertically into a groove in the middle of the resonance speaker box. The sound from the phone enters the resonance chamber, forming a resonance that amplifies the volume, particularly strengthening the bass. This design allows the sound from a single outlet of the mobile phone to create a stereo effect, spreading music from both right and left sound outlets.
The creation of The Voice of Ceramic was not without challenges. The molding accuracy of ceramics is difficult to control, and the deformation after firing is uncertain. The designers had to make repeated calculations and tests on the shape, size, center of gravity, orientation of pipe orifice, and the placement and angle of mobile phones. But their perseverance paid off, resulting in a product that is as aesthetically pleasing as it is functional.
The Voice of Ceramic has been recognized for its innovative design, winning the Iron A' Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award in 2021. This award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements and contribute to a better world. The Voice of Ceramic is indeed a contribution to a better world, providing a low-carbon, environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional speakers.
The Voice of Ceramic is a testament to the power of design and innovation. It's a perfect blend of ancient ceramics and high-tech mobile phones, a combination of traditional crafts and modern industrial design concepts. It's a design that not only amplifies sound but also reduces carbon emissions. And most importantly, it's a design that speaks to the power of tradition and technology, working together to create something truly unique.
